The famous blogger Robert Scoble once said:

Are you worried about the elitism of A list jerks like me?

Then FREAKING LINK TO NEW BLOGGERS THAT WE HAVEN’T HEARD ABOUT YET!!!

That’s how you take down the A list. Link, baby, link!

We realized that we need an aggregating service that links to posts by everyone including Z-Listers so that all the voices from the Indian blogosphere are properly heard. It is just not possible to include every blogger from India but we have decided to do our best to get those voices out in the public. The result is Blogbharti, an aggregator that brings to you the best of the Indian blogosphere.

Our current contributors are:

  • Kuffir: Kuffir blogs at kufr.
  • Apurva: Madhat tries not to live by the rules but lives in Bangalore, a city that he plans not to leave. Has wide-ranging interests, including feminism, world cinema, literature, music, computers, politics and culture. If you want to converse with him, mail him at dastheleper at gmail dot com. He blogs at My Life, My Words and Pixsurf
  • Mridula: Mridula is Assistant Professor of HRM and works in Gurgaon. She loves to travel and trek in the Himalayas. She can be reached at mridula at gmail dot com.
  • Bombay Addict: Bombay Addict is Bombay’s Addict. When he’s not caught in the perils of corporate life, he chases lines of traffic jams, crowded trains and dug-up roads in the city he’s hooked on to. Somewhere in between he’s found blogging at Bombay Diaries and Mumbai Matters.
  • Anirudh Karnick: Anirudh exists. Mostly in Kanpur, Delhi and Bombay; occasionally elsewhere. He is interested in books, music, deschooling/learning, political theory, being funny and much else. He believes that such introductions do not achieve much apart from giving one the joy of referring to oneself in the third person. People interested in getting in touch with him can mail him at anirudhk at gmail dot com.
  • River: River teaches English in a women s college affiliated to the University of Delhi. Her blog started as a research experiment a little over a year ago when she was working on a project on poetry as hypertext. After several years of serious study at JNU and after defending her doctoral thesis on (serious) things like Assamese identity, British colonialism, etc; she decided that it was time to devote her precious time on researching that strange and magnificent animal called popular culture. Her passions include poetry, fractals, caricatures, comic books, murder mysteries, movies and the study of online communities.
  • BVN: BVN writes code for a living, writes quotes for living. Caught between Macondo and John Galt, muses on Kerala and Karma. Blogs at bvndiaries and GoodNightnGoodLuck. Primary interests are politics, poetry and movies. Political view changes every three hours, current pursuit is American politics - no plans to run for President, if elected will not serve.
  • Rama: Rama is an entrepreneur, social planner, grassroots organiser and teacher based in Kolkata.
  • Shruthi: Shruthi is an incorrigible optimist, in love with life. When she is not curled up with a book, you can find her swaying to music or relishing good food. She loves long walks, and travelling.
  • Jo: Jo loves everything about life, music in particular. Friends and well wishers had advised him that it is always wise for an artist to stay away from politics, but he occasionally writes about it when it freaks him out too much. Founder of an online platform for amateur musicians and the first Malayalam podcast. He blogs at Just Jo.
  • Alex: Alex loves life and Economics. He blogs at Experiencing Life and Undergraduate Economist. He is passionate about The Doors, Metallica, Salvador Dali and Hermann Hesse.
  • Aditya Swarup (who blogs at The Social Blog), in his own words: Aged 20 (possibly the youngest in the group) presently studying law at NALSAR Univ, Hyderabad. Most of my friends call me a “passionate soliloquist;. Reasons - for the umpteen number of times that I’ve heard Handel’s Messiah, Wagner and read Art Buchwald. I read a lot of non- fiction books; Kant, Goethe, Ayn Rand, Dworkin.. to name a few. I love traveling, seeing places and meeting people; most of which I do alone. An ideal holiday would however still be to be in my college room all day, reading a book and the worldspace never being switched off. :)
  • Vikas Siva Shankar (or Viky, who blogs at Que Sera Sera and Starlit Nights) says: Nahin rakhta dil mein kuch; rakhta hoon zubaan par, samjhe na apne bhi kabhi…
  • Aishwarya blogs in a number of places but can mostly be found at Kaleidoglide. She is 22, reads a lot, and is a lot more interesting than she sounds.
  • Sudipta is the young turk on the list. He is a graduate student who spends his time dutifully sweeping mines or playing solitaire (when he is not sleeping, that is). After such intense activity, he records his daydreams on his blog: Sudipta’s Life.
