‘Happy to help’

After a 3 month TV drought, I turned it on to see the new Vodafone ad and found it pretty cute. Apparently, even that is not out of controversy. XH writes;

The ad is on air for almost a month now, and now the Animal Welfare Board of India have sent a show cause notice towards Vodafone and the ad agency who created this ad. What irked them is the scene where the pug runs behind the but with a tie, and they says it could have endangered the life of the pug.

the ad agency said that there was a licensed vet around and certificates about the health of the pug was obtained before and after the shooting…

Now, to this jump in PETA, the NGO which is a part of many controversies. They tried to support the Animal Welfare Board of India, but am not so sure whether the job was a success or failure.

what troubles me is the policing in ads. First the uproar to ban all the ads which shows motorcycle stunts…now it is ‘cruelty’ against animals. What next? Do you really think making the pug run behind the bus amounts to cruelty to it?

………….

Also for the readers. the Ad may be viewed in youtube via the following link.

    The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 - to protect the animals from un-necessary pain & sufferings inside the Indian territory not outside India, as per section 38 of this act & the offenses under this acts are non-cognizable with minor punishments - performing animals be registered with the AWBI. I am in the opinion that AWBI raised baseless questions & counter question for AWBI & PETA INDIA - why AWBI registered performing Elephants during Elephant polo played at Jaipur, PETA people & myself arrested by the Jaipur Police during protest & the Chairman of the AWBI enjoyed the match with his wife, WHY - Dogs are being killed in Kerala, open cow slaughter in Kerala & West Bengal, AWBI must do something to stop these killings & PCA Act, 1960 needs review & amendments. As per notification issued under the PCA Act, 1960 authority - 5 wild species are banned to perform but why dancing monkeys are on streets wearing clothes ?????. Today the PIL moved by me in the High Court at Jaipur about Elephant Polo will be heard by the Hon’ble double bench…….let us see.
