India Shining

Aditi is pretty pissed off with the hypocrisy among the politicians while condemning racial discrimination in the Shilpa Shetty case

Help me out here, this isnt racial discrimination but its the same thing. When one section of society in majority refuses to be tolerant of a minorities’ views be it on religion, race, color or in this portion simply the allegation that they had beef in their car. (The police later said it was chicken and pork.. err Islamic extremists I believe that is your call to start rioting). How can this country claim to make such gargantuan claims, and its leadership included when they dont practise what they preach to others?

Again why do i look for logic in this I dont know, but I still wonder…. Yep India sure is shining, lets all shut our eyes to this idioticness and focus on the Corus deal like our leadership, put on our shiny white smiles and say India sure is Shining.

Here is Sivaramakrishnan’s take on the same issue

Last 3 days, it has been making rounds in the headlines of all 24×7 news channels, the so called fans have been enjoying a feast as if, India have won the world cup, and to top it all, the so called moral police officers, who always say they stand to protect the culture and tradition of this country (The BJP) has gone to an extent of extending an invitation to Shilpa shetty to join the party. (Pity that she landed in Mumbai , just a day before the BMC election, else, the party would have tried to rope her in campaign - still you have Delhi, Punjab and UP elections).

There are thousands of villages in this country where people belonging to a certain sect are not allowed inside the temple, denied water from the tank, made to walk bare footed, discriminated and humilitated at public places. Neither the Media or the politicos are interested in solving their issues once for all.
