The mystery of Tamil Nadu politics

Narayanan Thyagarajan seems to think that Tamilnadu is one of the developed states because no party could get elected again

I ‘am bit confused that why Tamil Nadu moves forward and some sort of development takes place in the state and other states doesn’t develop at the pace in which TN grows. The reason I found out is very simple, they don’t want to have government for more than five years. In simple terms People don’t get second term to rule. This kind of a situation means anybody who comes to power has to undertake some development projects for the people and make the people happy .These kind of things are desperately done by the political parties to get the vote of confidence from the people. That is not enough for the people of TN so they change the governments every five years.

But I tend to disagree because “boot the ruling party trend” is a new phenomenon (after MGR’s death).
