I don’t have a problem with participating (in my limited way) in religious celebrations or rituals if it’s important to someone else. Nor do I have difficulty accepting that it is an extremely important force in many people’s lives. What I do have a problem with is this: except in limited circles, agnostics and atheists are a “reviled subculture” as the Salon article points out.
