Automated Daydreaming?

Tharini is wary of TV, and this is why:

This continued for a good 2 years. We got so involved in it that we would get agitated if Winkie didn’t go to bed quickly, making us miss all the action happening downstairs. We took to recording the episodes and catching up with all that we missed. We filled the house with all the noise of the crying and the violence and the angst, and all the onslaught of rapidly moving images of the commercials which happened every time we exhaled a breath! There was difficulty hearing each other above all the din and dinners were had on the sofa watching the fictional drama of people’s lives. (To this date, there was only one good and spellbinding serial that we caught during this period, and that was Chidambara Ragasiyam, but I digress.)

I always knew those Sun TV serials were evil.
