So it was able to draw on a wide variety of philosophical themes — both ancient and relatively modern by comparison, and often opposing — still present in modern Hinduism. Yet, to consolidate the two schools of thoughts proved to be an extremely difficult task — a fact which the lyricism of the Gita, in the words of Lord Krishna himself, could not camaflouge.
