Anirban Roy recalls the statements by the leaders of the BJP and the Congress barely a month ago, with their statements being made now. He calls it the Foot in the Mouth Disease.
I am not a supporter of BSP or Mayawati but I actually appreciate that they maintained a very low profile on the media and exuded a silent confidence. Perhaps they don’t have many articulate speakers or photogenic faces craving to give soundbytes and tid-bits to the always news hungry media but at least they were doing the dirty and hard work at the ground instead of just talking big in front of the camera. And yes I sincerely believe that our present day politicians seriously need medications for their incurable Foot in Mouth Syndrome. Food for thought eh?
Ozymandia sums up the evolution of the BSP by listing the three slogans that stand out in the party’s brief history.

In recent times UP has even slipped down below Bihar – once known for its mismanagement and corruption. No industrial development has taken place in years now. Cities have been sold to a few Industrial houses. Corruption is rampaging and the people’s emotions have been constantly misused for the political reasons. With Mayawati’s victory the people of the state have said loud and clear a positive “NO”. Is it a coincidence that the country is celebrating the 150th year of 1857 – The First war of Independence?
