China’s Path is Our Path

Vikas Pathak summarizes the developments in Nandigram where the CPM is following the Chinese Communist Party in ushering in capitalism in West Bengal.

Lord Buddha from the City of Joy is “smarter” than Modi. Remember, it’s not for nothing that Communists are intellectuals and Sanghis fools. Firstly, Buddha did not allow the media to get incriminating photographs of people begging for life, like Modi had allowed. Secondly, while Modi ordered the police to stand still while people were killed, Buddha declared them (the police) out-of-bounds till “people’s democracy” was re-established after bloodshed.

A rare feat in the history of democracy has been accomplshed. Buddha Babu ko Lal Salaam!

At Kafila, Aditya Nigam points to the “silence of the lambs.”

It has happened many times in the past and it seems destined to happen again – thanks to the silence of the left-liberal intelligentsia and the opportunism of the political class. Soon Nandigram may be forgotten by the political class and CPM will be ‘forgiven’ its misdemeanour – all for the sake of some supposedly ‘larger cause’.

Depalan takes stock of the CPM’s degeneration in both West Bengal and Kerala, in light of the state inflicted violence in Nandigram.

This blogger is not entirely against Left I have met some admirable and committed people (among elder genration) but CPI(M) surely has started to loose it. Like what is happening in Bengal in Kerala too they have lost credibility among the civil society. There are some committed people in the Left and they are definitely not in CPI(M), atleast at the top level they are just power brokers with intellectual mask. For every Achuthanandan there are ten scoundrels like Pinrayi Vijayan.
