RGV Ki Aag reviews

First reviews of Ram Gopal Varma ki Aag coming in.

Buzz18:

DO NOT watch the film! And we aren’t even comparing it to the original here. A well-told story needs no comparison and a badly narrated one should not be compared.

Movietonic:

Ram Gopal Verma is no Ramesh Sippy. This Aag is sure to leave Ramu’s Factory incinerated. As for me, I have an appointment with my psychiatrist today ( thanks to Ramu). Hope everything is fine up there. Watch the movie at your own risk!!!

Deep:

Overall, the movie was bad in the first half and pathetic in the 2nd.. All the actors were wasted except Amitabh Bachchan and Mohanlal.

So, in short… STAY AWAY… get DVD of Sholay and don’t bother watching this movie ever…

Just so that we’re fair, please drop us a comment if you read a positive review, or if you feel there’s anything good about the movie that has been missed out by viewers.

PS – An earlier link (Remo) was deleted because it was a straight copy/paste from here. Apologies for the error and thanks for pointing it out, Meetu.

Thanks for the timely reviews but you shouldn’t really link to blogs that offer links to download copyright material.

    Ref: Remo’s blog.

I am LOLing at how uniform the reviews seem to be!

    Hey BA,

The link to “Remo”’s review is actually written by me at http://withoutgivingthemovieaway.com. Remo (where did you get the name from?!) has plagiarised the entire post without a reference to me, let alone a link.

Not only did I spend three hours writing it after tolerating the movie, I also submitted it as a story to Blogbharti immediately after. I have been regularly submitting my posts. The first time you pick it up in the last 3-4 months, you have it linked to a blog that has plain copied and pasted it!

Vinod – Thanks, point noted. In fact, Remo’s post has been knocked off albeit for different reasons.

Shruthi – yeah..same’s the case in papers and TV too!

Meetu – Apologies, the link’s been removed. I’ve left a comment at Remo’s blog (which is how I got his/her name), but the comment is in moderation.

Thanks for the immediate action, BA! Much apprciated! I left a comment on Remo’s blog too, but it promptly got deleted.

I am great fan of original ‘Shole’, and haven’t seen ‘RGV ki Aaag’, but thanks to the reviews that now i will not waste my time and money by going to a theater, but will surely watch it on DVD ;) and enjoy it like a spoof. Thanks to the pirated CD/DVD market that these kinds of hopeless movies never make it big. I always watch movies with great reviews in Theaters, like Chak-De, its a great movie. but movies like RGV ki Aaag needs to be burnt with piracy Aaag ;).

This is the most bundle movie. Don’t ever plan to watch. I am #1 fan of Big B. But after looking at his acting , role and this movie (bakwas), I am thinking that Big B is now insane. Budda pagal ho gaya hai. And Ramu doesn’t have any sense. Mohanlal who plays as Sanjeev Kumar, fits 100% for Gabbarsingh’s role. Sushmita is okay. Big B can not act any worse than what he acted in this movie. I agree, that instead BUY DVD from Ramesh Sippy’s Sholey and watch it. I am glad he didn’t let this stupid (Ramu) use his movie name Sholey.

Iam not a fan of RGV but iam a big fan of SHOLAY. I watched both the movies SHOLAY and RGVs Aag, and i dont understand why people dont like RGVs Aag, the style and creativity looks similar to all the movies he made before,,
The only problem I think is that people are comparing RGVs Aag with SHOLAY,,no doubt SHOLAY was a milestone movie, that doesnt mean that RGVs Aag also should be.
The ultimate scenes of SHOLAY in my view are the train fight where the dakus chase the train on horses, and the other was the introduction of Gabbar singh, which left an unforgetable impression on all of us. But in RGVs Aag the train chase was replaced with some cheap fight scene and the introduction of Gabbar was not up to the mark but to the standards of RGV. I dont mistake amitabh for this, actually his performance is the best in the entire movie.
My personal openion is that RGV cannot impress the audience with a story which is already made. I can say that RGVs Aag is up to the standards of the movie Sarkar. I dont find any point in hating the movie. If the same movie was made with a different story and with the same casting, i think it would have been a big hit. Anyways it depends upon each individuals personal openion.

RAM GOPAL VERMA PAGAL HO GAYA HAI. ITS THE TIME FOR RETIREMENT RAMUJI. YOU ARE WASTED THE TIME OF GREAT ACTORS LIKE MOHANLAL AND AMITABH BACHAN. WOHI SAME SEXI SEANS. WOHI SCENE SEQUENCES. ONLY MOHANLAL AND BACHAN SAAB ARE GOOD. PLEASE RAMUJI IS TARAH KA PRODUCTS DOBARA NAHI BANANA.

I leave the theater half way while the movie still on going ….RGK AGG’s and the cast… hehe… kya kahen, kay baat, wah wah .. I never expect the movie was such a poor acting movie.. The “Babban” …..NO WAY BABBAN CAN BEAT GABBAR….. the Jai and Viru…. wat craps and the basanti…wat double craps …. PLS DONT WASTE MONEY WATCHING THIS RGK AGG… its totally not worth …. Frankly, BABBAN make me laugh nonstopped … BABBAN was more a like an old sick man who hardly can speak .. NONE can do like original Ramesh Sippy’s SHOLAY and none can replaced GABBAR, THAKUR, JAI, VEERU, BASANTI, RADHA, SAMBHA, IMAM SAAB, ANGREZ KE ZAMANE KA JAILER, MOSSI, SORMA BHOPALI, DHANNU, KAALIA, KASHIRAM, and HELEN, OMSHIVPURI, IFTHIKAR…. I RATED 1 out off 100 for AGG. END.
