Reviews coming in for Aamir Khan’s directorial debut, “Taare Zameen Par”

Aamir Khan impressed me, after a long time again. [..]. He is often accused of interfering in the making of most of his movies, but since the movie is MADE by him, it is very apparent, and delightfully so. When he is teary eyed, you know it may not be glycerin. [..] Though his introduction song made me wince a little (it looks out of place – sort of), you can feel the pain, the angst, the affection, and the sarcasm when he delivers his dialogues.

And Y Chittaranjan is impressed with young Darsheel Safary.

As an actor, Aamir has put in a good performance but the real scene-stealer is master Darsheel Safary. He manages to convey the angst of Ishaan so poignantly that one can’t help but marvel at his performance. He has few dialogues but he lets his eyes and emotions do the talking.

Kudos to Aamir Khan for taking up a subject which is very relevant in today’s world. With the world becoming more and more competitve each day, most often, parents push for high grades without realising what the child is actually going through. I believe this will be a wake up call for many such parents.
