I was well versed with all the siddhant (principles) in physics and expert in solvingĀ mathematical equations in Hindi. It was a different matter all together that I could not make a difference between principle and principal till very late in life.


I still gets confused with the spelling of Principle and Principal :)
I have worse problems. I studied in Telugu medium, spent half life abroad and most of the time I worked in mathematics. I find that writing in either language is difficult. Bertrand Russell has some advice:

and there is a famous essay on writing English by the Anglo-Indian writer George Orwell. They help a bit but not with tense, punctuation etc. If one is clear about what one wants to say and writes in short sentences, it may help.
I kind of have the inverse problem. I think in English all the time and I cannot read or write literature in Kannada which is supposed to be my mother tongue. I really wish I could…
