Join Blogbharti facebook group.One of my colleague, after observing so many locals making part of the devotees who came to offer prayer, remarked, “Now, one cannot deny that Hinduism has made inroad into the Apatani society and it wouldn’t be long when majority will be Hindu.” I couldn’t agree more than him. When Donyi-Poloism is being equated with Hinduism or as a branch of Hindu, is there anyone left who is not a Hindu?
I dont agree with the above observation, Indigeneous faith cannot be equated as a branch of any other religion rather it has the out look which is sum total out look of all the religions in this world. It is evident from the participation of indigeneous people in almost all the festivals without disntinction of religion either it Durga Puja or Christmas etc. I have even seen that they are contributing amounts for such celebration even though the peoples of the other sects do not participate to such level in their indigeneous festivals. Equation of Donyi-Poloism which a movement to organise such a noble and pure faith with any other religion would be a mistake, rather they sould equate themself with the Donyi-Poloism, which is the sum total of all the religions of this world and is the true abode of Almighty God.

I’m afraid if ‘Donyi-Poloism’ the so-called indigenous faith has anything indigenous about it. You just got to visit ‘Meder Nello’ and observe the rituals over there to know if it indeed is an indigenous faith and may be then you would reconsider your views:)
