Respect the victims

Vamsee Juluri asks the Western Press to be fair and professional:

Why is this a terrorist attack “in” India, as everyone is saying, and not “on” India?

Why then, was 9/11 an attack “on” America and not “in” America?

This little difference has a huge consequence for how we understand and deal with terrorism today. The world press has turned the terrorist attack on Mumbai into what is perhaps the biggest live/death global media event ever, at least since 9/11. The least it can do now by way of a drop of justice and respect for victims, direct and indirect, Mumbaikars and Indians, victims and innocents everywhere, is to respect the perimeters of crime and victimhood here.
