Arzan notices a ‘disturbing trend’ emerging in India: he’s convinced forwarded chain emails constitute abuse of corporate mail. He also thinks the MNCs which allow employees to abuse corporate email in this fashion can be sued for hurting the feelings of some sections:
The email contents are generally
A list of 12 reasons why men are better than women.
How Malayalis speak English.
Why food is better than sex.
Parsi “Bawaji” and “Catlick” Pao jokes et al…
…and dozens of other such similar email topics.I do not have issues with receiving these and I take them in good humour even when there are Parsi Jokes. However I find it baffling that people working for these MNC’s actually use their corporate email ID’s to send these emails out.
If the same thing happened in the US and someone from say Merrill Lynch sent out an email about how all Rednecks are stupid (aka Sardarji kinda jokes) the employee would be fired immediately and the company could be sued by any redneck worth his salt.
Speaking of email forwards, let me quote a few lines from an interesting email forward that i’d found on Arzan’s blog:
Linked by kuffir. Join Blogbharti facebook group.Let’s start the reservation with our cricket team. We should have 10 percent reservation for muslims. 30 percent for OBC, SC/ST like that. Cricket rules should be modified accordingly. The boundary circle should be reduced for an SC/ST player. The four hit by an OBC player should be considered as a six and a six hit by a OBC player should be counted as 8 runs. An OBC player scoring 60 runs should be declared as a century.
the point being?
