Linked by kuffir. Join Blogbharti facebook group. Were you lucky enough to be living in one of the participating cities? Did you enjoy the outdoors and got a chance to see the stars that made an appearance due to dark skies? Of course, my question assumes that you are not a skeptic who thinks that the global warming issue is a trivial one, or a vast conspiracy - even as another nail gets hammered in that coffin. Additionally, you believe in the power of symbolic gestures. Even google joined the party.

I did nothing…indeed I confess that I am one of those dreaded climate change skeptics. Long have I lived in perpetual denial of the inevitable and I laughed. Yes- listen to my unspeakable sin- I laughed in the face of global warming, rising sea levels, dying polar bear cubs. I was a monster. Earth hour made me see the light. My sense of pride prevailed and I could not turn off my lights, but I wept as I saw the dimming skyline. I wept as I listened to those saintly people who turned off the evil lights. I beat my breast in anguish at my wasteful ways, screaming, “What have I become?! What have I become?!” O dear sweet Gaia, why have I wounded you so?
