Dr.A.S.N.Rao Sindhe thinks ‘literacy is the single key factor’ that’d help India achieve its full development potential: 

The whole world seems a game board to me; and the different phenomena, processes and projects, various games. The different teams playing these games could be the government, the electorate, the student body, the industries and a host of others. In this particular paper I have tried to compare illiteracy to a snake that engulfs the weak and the gullible and literacy to a ladder that takes anyone, who wants to climb it, to a higher strata intellectually, emotionally, financially, culturally and socially. Illiteracy is a negative force; a drag; and literacy a positive force; a thrust.
