Mumbai is the target again!

Kapil Bhatia shares his thoughts.

The news was shocking. But the loud explosion sounds were scary and reminded me of the afternoon from the Mumbai ‘93 blasts.

Sangeetha wonders whether the middle class is off the terrorist radar.

The twitter world is abuzz.

Vinu has been posting pictures on his photostream.

Manish Vij is following the events very, very closely.

Matthew D’Ancona thinks that the attacks was targeted at Westerners.

When I was in Mumbai in February I stayed at the Taj and ate the best fish curry I have ever tasted at Leopold’s: both targets in tonight’s shocking attacks. Even as the angry flames light up the sky of this extraordinary world city, it is clear that this was, at least in part, a strike aimed at Westerners staying in Mumbai and, with an eye to the future, an attempt to spray psychological shrapnel in the direction of those planning to go there.

geveN remembers the Taj Hotel.

The Taj Hotel is to hotels, what the Buckingham Palace or Versailles is, compared to some of those new glitzy palaces of the oil rich Sheikhs!!! ………it “houses” some, now rare wood work, intricate stone work and marble lattice work, rare furniture and rare paintings, and a feel of heritage in its architecture……………and as I could guess, from pictures on CNN and BBC, its right wing, the Radio Club end, is on fire.

This is just SHOCKING!

Shashank Teotia wonders how he can contribute

And more importantly am I just going to be a mute spectator and write probably an occasional note. Is that the only contribution we can make or is there a way which makes use of our collective abilities?

An interesting view on Indian terrorism from Sri Lanka (well experienced in terror) on what India should NOT be tempted to do in the aftermath of the terror.

No matter how many terrorist attacks there are, we must never fear, resist or mock the precious and ever peaceful Islam. Who are we to say that raping 6 year-olds is immoral? Who are we to say that stoning gays and rape victims to death is evil?

Who are we to say that killing hundreds of people every month in the name of Allah is the height of evil? That is just their culture and ideology and it MUST be respected. Morality is all relative, we must remember that.
