Name of a Common Flower

Priya tells us they are called Vinca or Periwinkle (also Madagascar Periwinkle). To me they are very commonly seen flowers in summer, though till now they were unnamed for me.

It is a very common flower in Andhra. I am not quite getting the name, perhaps it is ‘Garudavardhana’and ‘billy goat stinker’ in some parts of Enland. I think that some varities, may be the white flowered ones are supposed to have cancer fighting properties.
