Review of the site Redbus.in

Shrinidhi is at his reviewing best when he weighs the pros and cons of booking a ticket via Redbus.in-

I’ve personally experienced in Omer travels who put plastic stools in the passage way and accommodate extra people. Money earned through these unaccounted seats is often shared among bus crew and travel agent who brings the passengers. More the number of passengers coming through RedBus.in and other such service providers less will be the chance for these people to unofficially sell off a seat and make money. RedBus.in customers, having paid in full, are at the mercy of the bus crew to reach their destinations and often get worst of the service due to bad attitudes and mentality of some bus crew. Only surprise raids by bus owners can stop this.

    Hi All,

Please don’t travel by Omer Travels. Such a menace they are. These idiots donot have any concerns for the customers or travellers.

I have travelled from Mumbai to Hyderabad on 27th September 2008, by Omer Travels. One of their A/C Volvo buses was supposed to pick me from Airport to SION and I had to travel by a Non Ac Volvo.

The bus was supposed to pick me up by 7 PM but turned at pickup point at 9:30 PM. Then in Sion it turned out that this bus was in repair and also we are asked to get down as we had non a.c tickets. So some of us paid for A.c. not willing to get out of A.C. But later what we came to know was that all non a.c. buses left and we were fooled by this deal of changing to a.c. tickets.

We were not even told that the bus was in repair and cannot go far. It was already 11:30 Pm in Mumbai.

Bu started and after going 30km there was smoke all around and they repaired and then at last at max it reached Khapoli that is 60km away from Mumbai. We were forced to spend our night there. They very well knew that the bus can’t travel long. They played this mischief with us as they will have to refund if they stopped their bus in mumbai itself.

We were given another stupid bus at 9 AM and we reached at 11:30 PM. That too we were forced to get down in either Patancheru or Mehdipatnam saying some stupid causes.

My other observations were that they use all used and old buses which have met accidents before. The driver and attendant are very rude to travellers.

Adding to agony the cleaner was demanding Rs 100 – 200 from people who were carrying the luggage.

My short trip to Mumbai turned into a nightmare because of this ordeal.

Please pass on this message to all you know to never go by Omer Travels.

is 10.30 on by watch. They are not provide any bus number on ticket,

they only give the seat number and i change bus 3 times till now. and

still there is no body there to entertain us. even when i call on the

given number on his website and ticket, my call put on hold for a very

long time and when i redial no body pick up the phone. and when i am

trying to cancel the ticket it always gives a error message which is

“ERROR: Unable to process your request. Please try later. “. Now dont

    Very bad experience with redbus.in

I took 2 Neeta Volvo bus (Mumbai – Pune) tickets for my brother and his wife for 7:10 pm 1st Oct 2009 via redbus. I was allotted seat numbers G and H and the boarding point for us was Chembur.

We reached Chembur on time, but the bus was late, then the bus came at 7:45 pm but the conductor did not give us the seat number G and H which were allotted to us and was offering the front most seats, which were not at all comfortable. When we raised our voice we were told that this was the only seat what they can offer, otherwise wait for the another bus. And at last we were told that this is not the 7:10 pm bus. But we came to know from the other sources (other travel office at the same place) that that was 7:10 pm bus only.

Then we waited for the next bus which came at 8:45 pm and this bus also we were not given the allotted seat and at last we were given the last but one seat. We had no option but to travel as we had to reach Pune urgently.

In the whole process we tried to call red bus help line numbers given in the tickets but at all the times the line got disconnected after a long wait of around ~10 minutes on the call (I would say pathetic help line).

We also try to take help of Neeta Volvo Head office Chembur, but they were not at all helpful and told us it’s a mistake to take ticket from red bus and told us they cannot help on this issue.

Also called Neeta Volvo helpline numbers, but of no use.

Next time, I would not recommend anybody to book ticket from Red Bus after this horrible experience. Also try to avoid Neeta Volvo, these people are not at all helpful. I know difficult, but try to get MSRTC Volvo bus or KSRTC, APSRTC.

    Hi,

I had tried the services of Redbus.in for the first time and it was an utter disaster. I had filled the ticket booking form online by about 11 ish of 30th dec 2009. (Dest: Trivandrum from Bangalore) I had requested a travel ticket to Trivandrum from Bangalore. I get an sms immediately on my mobile and soon after i get this confirmation call from their office. I asked her as to when the ticket can be collected. I was told that the ticket will reach my residance by evening.

As I had no one at home, and desperate to have the ticket, i reach home early and kept waiting for the ticket. I call them by 6 and then i was given a msg that since the actor’s sad demise, there was some kind of a commotion in the city and that the ticket will be delivered to my residance the next morning (31/12/2009). I wanted this ticket so very badly that i decided to wait for the same at home. Even after 12 noon, i did not get intimation and thus I call them. The answer was very casual and said that the delivery boy will come over after 4PM.

I wanted to speak to the manager and the operator keeps asking me what the reason was and then i hear someone talking in the background, then he keeps me on hold and states that the manager was not available around. I wanted the number of the delivery person, i was told that he does not have a mobile. After persuading the operator he said that the manager will call me back and his name is Vinod.

I realized that trusting these unprofessional set of people on an important travel would be stupidity and called up Shama Travels directly to book my ticket.

I get a call (who spoke in pretty much comprehendible english) after some time stating that he wanted to come over to my resiadance for delivery of my ticket. As at that hour its just around 24 more hours for my departure time, i had already booked my ticket with Shama Travels directly on phone (Come more economical than the same ticket thru Redbus.in

I recommend people to be sure of what they are getting into. This also could be a one off experiance but that makes it a 100% disastrous experiance for me.

    Regards,

    BilluRaj.
