N started a process in motion in December.
I got up this morning and wrote a letter to HR about how the person who heads the Bangalore office is a sexist, racist shit who has been making lewd, familiar and humiliating statements about me in front of large groups of people. The email is marked to the global head of HR, my manager and him.
The shit is now going to hit the fan. There will be frantic phone calls. There will be manipulative attempts to make me change my mind. There will be bitching and ostracism.
But there will be no more fun jokes at the lunch table about my boobs and ass.
The chapter ended in February.
They have transferred the former GM to Delhi. They have also demoted him. They have made a public announcement about what happened in all their offices in the country. They have warned others about such behavior and will be starting sensitization sessions to address what they believe are cultural issues in the Bangalore office.
The CEO of the company has issued me a letter validating my statements, thanking me for bringing it to their notice, and apologizing for the distress and trauma caused.
N has penned three posts on how to deal with sexual harassment at work place.
Sexual Harassment in the Workplace - I: The Law
Sexual Harassment in the Workplace - II: The Complaints Mechanism
